What if you could live inside a drawing?
The 2D Van started with an idea I brought home from Tokyo. While living in Japan, I walked into a 2D-style café — an entirely white space outlined in black — and it completely changed the way I saw the room. For a moment, it felt like stepping out of the real world and into a sketch.
I wanted to take that feeling somewhere it didn't belong: inside a van.
Built in 2026, The 2D Van combines Vancy's curved, unconventional shapes with a hand-drawn cartoon aesthetic. The furniture, cabinets, doors and details are built in three dimensions, then painted white and outlined by hand in black, blurring the line between a functional camper and an illustration.
Nothing is meant to look perfectly manufactured. The irregular lines, exaggerated shapes and unexpected details are part of the character. From certain angles, your eyes aren't quite sure whether you're looking at furniture or a drawing.
But behind the cartoon is a completely functional tiny home — kitchen, storage, bed, refrigerator and even a hidden wine bar.
It's not a van trying to look like a house.
It's a van designed to feel like you've stepped inside a sketch.
